🏗️Buckets Modules

Each bucket represents a unique DeFi strategy, ranging from simple approaches like holding BTC in a wallet to more intricate multi-protocol and multi-chain strategies involving leverage for example. Experienced investors have the opportunity to create and share their buckets with the community, while anyone can effortlessly access these curated strategies with a simple click. Rest assured, your funds flow directly to the relevant protocols, as the protocol never stores them in any case.

What are buckets modules?

The buckets are user-defined construct that can represent any imaginable DeFi investment strategy. Essentially, a bucket is a combination of tokens carefully selected by its creator based on their belief in the tokens' potential for significant growth. Let's take a look at a few examples to better understand buckets.

Imagine bucket A, which consists of a 50% allocation to Bitcoin (BTC) and a 50% allocation to Ethereum (ETH). This simple combination reflects the creator's investment strategy. Now, consider bucket B, which builds upon the BTC-ETH allocation by adding tokenized Treasury bonds. Lastly, we could have bucket C for example, where the creator deposits Lido staked ETH into the Aave protocol, leveraging this collateral for additional investment activities. As you can see, bucket C is designed for more experienced users.

How to create a bucket?

Once you logged in, click on the Buckets section on the left-hand bar and then "Create a bucket" in the top right corner.

The possibilities for creating different buckets are virtually endless, catering to both beginners and experts. Anyone can create a bucket and share it with other users, allowing them to invest through that specific strategy. However, there are a few factors to consider when creating a bucket:

  • Tokens or Pools: you have the flexibility to include tokens or "pools," which represent yield opportunities on various protocols (e.g., lending USDT on Aave).

  • Allocation: you are free to choose the allocation percentages for each component within the bucket, as long as the total sum adds up to 100%.

  • Unique combinations: each bucket is a unique combination of tokens/pools and their associated weights.

  • Visibility: other users can view your bucket and decide to invest through it. This means that their funds will be automatically directed to purchase the relevant tokens or deposit into the relevant pools.

Once a bucket is created, the app calculates several analytics to provide valuable insights. These include historical performance, risk scores, and descriptive data, all of which are publicly available. Furthermore, the bucket can be utilized within our suite of portfolio analytics tools known as "PORT."
